Social Skills With Puppets: Communication Styles

Everyone can learn to communicate assertively! Helping kids shift from whiny and bossy speech to clear questions can be a game-changer for parents and kids. Children who speak assertively tend to be more confident and better able to manage their emotions, making it easier to navigate their needs and wants. In this one-time class, students will learn about passive, aggressive, and assertive communication styles with our three kitty friends. Students will have a lot of fun learning to distinguish between these communication styles using puppets and pictures of real kids in everyday situations. Students will practice assertive communication skills and learn how to put their words into action by practicing treating others the way they want to be treated.
