Class Experience
Students will learn the building blocks of social skills through a variety of music based games, activities, and song. Students will have the opportunity to practice basic conversation with peers using their preferred means of communication (AAC, speaking, visual supports). We will cover greetings/goodbyes, getting to know a friend (asking and answering questions), and basics of reciprocal conversation. All methods of communication are welcome and respected. Board Certified Music Therapist (MT-BC) Neurologic Music Therapist (NMT) Completed course: Evidence Based Practices for Students with Mild/Moderate Autism Spectrum Disorder

Students should be prepared with any adapted communication supports, and an instrument of choice (it can be a water bottle filled with rice)!
No formal assessment.
