CLASS SUMMARY: This 4-lesson self-paced, asynchronous, Social Skills Course is packed with powerful tools to empower young learners to build Self-Awareness and Social Confidence!!! This course teaches tools to enhance social skills, intrapersonal skills, communication skills, and emotional intelligence. Students will learn to identify their strengths and weaknesses in social situations and use tools to put skills into practice. TOPICS COVERED & CLASS SCHEDULE: ⭐️LESSON 1: TOPICS -Introduction to “Chain of Events” & Building Self-Awareness. -Understanding the connection between our thoughts, feelings, and actions. -Students will practice identifying negative and positive thoughts in various social situations. 📆 SCHEDULE Monday: Welcome video and Recorded Lesson #1 will be posted to the classroom. Wednesday: Exercises, printouts, and games will be posted to the classroom. Friday: “Take It Home”- students will be presented with a FUN task to put their social skills into practice. ⭐️LESSON 2: TOPICS -Avoidance-Motivation- Rewards -Students will learn about the relationship between self-confidence and motivation. - Decision Making and Self-Esteem 📆 SCHEDULE Monday: Recorded Lesson #2 will be posted to the classroom. Wednesday: Exercises, printouts, and games will be posted to the classroom. Friday: “Take It Home”- students will be presented with a FUN task to put their social skills into practice. ⭐️LESSON 3: TOPICS -Building a plan to achieve my goals and act confident! -Students will learn how to use "Exposure Ladders", an evidence-based tool to increase confidence and achieve social goals. 📆 SCHEDULE Monday: Recorded Lesson #2 will be posted to the classroom. Wednesday: Exercises, printouts, and games will be posted to the classroom. Friday: “Take It Home”- students will be presented with a FUN task to put their social skills into practice. ⭐️LESSON 4: TOPICS -The difference between Assertive/Passive/Aggressive communication. -Positive vs Negative body language. -The use of "I" statements vs "You" statements in communication. 📆 SCHEDULE Monday: Recorded Lesson #4 will be posted to the classroom. Wednesday: Exercises, printouts and games will be posted to the classroom. Friday: “Take It Home”- students will be presented with a take FUN task to put their social skills into practice.
