Class Experience

Hi, my name is Ms. Brown and I think Parents are awesome teachers! But let’s face it, sometimes young adults like to learn life skills and personal development techniques from a stranger because there is an emotional disconnect. This is where I can help. I understand because I had the same challenges teaching my own child social skills and personal development lessons. It is not that I didn’t have the skills to teach my own child but I was too emotionally invested and got frustrated when he/she didn’t do a skill just right. So, I outsourced! The benefit of outsourcing was that my child learned how to cook, drive, create a budget, manage time, and fix a flat tire from an unbiased outsider’s perspective. If your “almost adult” learner wants to learn some basic adulting skills and manners from someone other than mom or dad, please let them join me in this private lesson. This class will be tailored around what your learner wants to add to their social skills and personal development tool box. Some of the lessons taught might include:
- setting the table & intensive dining etiquette
- work place etiquette and resume building
- basic budgeting and buying tips
- time management for work, play, home, and school
- how to dress for different social occasions and why dress matters
- social media etiquette to include emailing basics and researching fact/fiction in a digital world
- making friends and conversation skills
- polishing shoes and taking care of your own clothes
- house and/or room cleaning basics
Please send me a message with a social skill or personal development dilemma that your learner wants to conquer and we will solve it together!

Teacher expertise and credentials
Greetings!
My name is Ms. Brown. I teach etiquette, writing, editing, soft skills, reading, adulting, business, and leadership.
Like you, I love learning new things and value education for all ages. I believe learning happens everywhere and not just in a school room or university. If you open your eyes, ears, mind and heart, you can learn everywhere!
I have an associates degree in journalism and writing; a bachelor's degree in business management; and a masters degree in international relations and diplomacy. I also have certificates in digital media marketing as well as etiquette, manners, and international protocol.
I am the mom of a college age son who sometimes gets tired of his mom always correcting his grammar and table manners. And I have a very well behaved chocolate lab dog named Emily (after one of my favorite authors, Emily Bronte).
