3 in-class hoursClass Experience
*We will practice social skills by meeting new friends and sharing things about each other. This class will be a very casual open discussion with question prompting by Ms. Alli to encourage students to get to know each other. *We will cover how to take turns in telling stories or talking, when to stop talking to let someone else have a turn, and how to be respectful to our peers. Your child will be muted if necessary if they are struggling with ending their turn and allowing someone else to talk. *The class will be structured by allowing to have organic conversations develop, and questions will be given to spark new conversations as needed. *I will teach by beginning all classes with open ended questions for the learners and then allow for the learners to take more of a lead and develop friendships and relationships with peers. *I have a very laid back teaching style, but will mute children as needed and monitor appropriate behavior amongst students. I have experience with teaching students on the spectrum and am SPED certified. My intention for this class is for students who struggle with social interactions to have practice. *Students will be able to interact with me and their peers by sharing about themselves. They may introduce their peers to a pet, show off their favorite toys, tell us fun stories, etc. Our first class will be very basic introductions to meet our peers. *No required experience or knowledge is necessary. If your child struggles with socializing and does not want to talk at first, that is okay! Hopefully with hearing others share they will become more comfortable and begin to open up to practice socializing. If your child typically does not talk please feel free to message me before class so I know what to expect. Or, if your child likes to over share and not always take turns communicating, please message me as well.
Learning Goals
Our goals for this class include practicing socializing, being polite, turn taking, appropriate discussions amongst peers, and general friendship! This class is intended to be fun and spark friendships and social skills practice!
