1 hour per week. Students will receive a practice activity after each class. It is a self-paced worksheet that reinforces the material covered in the course. I recommend working on the worksheet with a family member, as it will create an opportunity to recap topics covered during the lessons. It will also provide the students with an extra chance to practice communication skills and social-emotional learning. CLASS SUMMARY: This is a fun, empowering and guided ongoing social skills class to help develop social skills, communication skills, increase self-awareness, and practice skills to build stronger friendships. The goal is to empower young girls to be their most confident selves! This is a welcoming space for girls to learn, chat, motivate one another and make new friends! We will discuss topics to build self-confidence, self-awareness, self-esteem and social development. ***This class welcomes neurotypical students, neurodivergent students, students with ADHD, and students on the Autism spectrum*** EACH CLASS WILL INCLUDE: ⭐️Warm-up exercises to get to know each other and practice social skills. ⭐️ Discussions and Brainstorm, where students will learn content and strategies regarding the day's topic, share ideas, practice problem-solving, and identify solutions to different social scenarios. ⭐️ Practice through role-play and conversation exchanges using prompts. As an ongoing class, students can join any week. I will facilitate interaction, communication, and sharing through discussions, exercises, and games. Each week the class will follow a different theme. EXAMPLES OF THEMES COVERED EACH WEEK: ⭐️The Power of Positive Self-Talk. ⭐️ Collaborating and Compromising in groups to get along. ⭐️"All About Me" and how to share about ourselves to make new friends. ⭐️Active-Empathetic Listening in friendships. ⭐️My Friendship Powers and My Actual Self. ⭐️Understanding non-verbal cues and "Back-channel". ⭐️Setting Boundaries for positive friendships. ⭐️Handeling Embarrassement ⭐️What it means to be a "Positive thinker and Solution Seeker" ⭐️The Power of Positive Affirmations. ⭐️Embracing Challenges in friendships and promoting a Growth Mindset. ⭐️I can be a Leader and Lead by Example. As an Ongoing Class; the class will meet weekly and each week we will cover a different topic. Students are welcome to join any week and attend as many classes as they wish. This class will run year-round! We will rotate through the new topics listed above. Students are welcome to attend as many classes as they wish. Some students will complete all 12 classes, while others stay enrolled longer, benefiting greatly from seeing the topics more than once. Class Schedule Example: Week of July 1st: The Power of Positive Self-Talk. Week of July 8th: Collaborating and Compromising Week of July 15th: "All About Me" Week of July 22nd: Active-Empathetic Listening I can't wait to see your learner in our Social Class for Girls!!!
