HELLO PARENTS AND STUDENTS!

CLASS SUMMARY:

This 5-class Social Skills Camp is packed with powerful tools to empower young learners to build Self-Awareness, Social Confidence, and boost Self-Esteem!

This course teaches tools to enhance social skills, intrapersonal skills, and emotional intelligence.  Students will learn to identify their strengths and weaknesses in social situations. 


TOPICS COVERED:

⭐️Class 1: Positive Thinking and Building Self-Awareness.
Understanding the connection between our thoughts, feelings and actions. Students will practice identifying both negative and positive thoughts in various social situations to build self-esteem. 

⭐️Class 2: Handling Embarrassment with Confidence.
This class helps build self-awareness and self-confidence. Students will learn how to follow steps to handle embarrassment.

⭐️Class 3: Circle of Control and Assertive Communication.
This lesson teaches about positive communication to stand up for ourselves. We learn the difference between Assertive/Passive/Aggressive communication. 

⭐️Class 4: Setting Boundaries.
This class empowers students with the tools needed to establish and maintain boundaries in friendships. 

⭐️Class 5: Setting Goals and Building Motivation:
Students will learn about the 'Stepladder Approach', an evidence-based tool to increase confidence and achieve social goals. 


TEACHING STYLE:

⭐️When your learner joins my class, they will always encounter a welcoming and warm place to learn and grow!

⭐️This class offers facilitated practice embedded in the lessons and homework exercises. Participation in class discussions is highly encouraged. Students can participate in discussions as much as they are comfortable. 

⭐️To facilitate learning, we utilize samples of different social scenarios related to the topic discussed. We elaborate and develop solutions for the characters in the scenarios. 


HOMEWORK:

This course includes homework. A worksheet is sent after each class for extra practice and can be used as a guide for the learner to revisit the topics covered in class.

Learning Needs
This class is inclusive of neurotypical & neurodivergent students (such as ADHD and students on the Autism spectrum). I specialize in Autism and Behavior Science, with extensive experience working with students of diverse learning needs.
Parental Guidance
This course will not cover any sensitive topics and students do not have to share personal information.
External Resources
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
