Description
Class Experience
Students will be able to learn and practice social skills that will help communicate better with others, identify emotions in themselves and others, solve problems with others, work through social anxieties or difficulties, and more.
I am a recently retired Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, with a focus on children and adolescents. I taught classes just like this one in public schools for 3 school years, and this class is adapted from the classes I led there. During my time in public schools, I adapted social skills and life skills materials for students from Kindergarten all the way through 12th grade.
There will be limited homework assigned, typically practice of the topic learned that week. There will also be resources made available to students to work through on their own or as reference material based on some of the classes available.
For some classes, the student will need a resource (provided by teacher) and: Pen/pencil Paper/journal *A journal for this class may be very helpful for students as they learn and practice their techniques
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
45 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 0 - 1 hours per week outside of class.
