#superstar One of my favorite things about teaching is watching students interact. In this digital age it is so hard for students to learn some of the social cues and etiquette expectations that were once easier to grasp. Students need a safe place to practice these skills. During our meetings we will play games like Would You Rather, Gimkit, Scavenger Hunts, and more. I will teach the skill and introduce the game. We will role play. Then we will play the game and practice what we have learned! There will be a primary social goal each week. Additionally, each week we will practice the following skills. * Taking turns * Active listening * How to compliment and encourage others * How to respond when spoken to * How to greet others * How to handle it when we don't agree with others and more Some examples of classes: (Class game is subject to change to meet the needs of the learners in attendance.) Week of May 1 ** Would You Rather ** Primary social goal- how to introduce yourself and respond to new acquaintances, adult and children and what the difference is in how we address them. Week of May 8 ** Gimkit (no software needed but students will log into the site through a secure code) animal trivia ** Primary social goal- How to respond to others to encourage them to do their best Week of May 15 ** Two truths and a lie ** Primary social goal- knowing appropriate information to share with others Week of May 29 ** Kahoot shark trivia ** Primary social goal- How to respond to others when under pressure Week of June 17 ** Summer scavenger hunt ** Primary social goal- how to respond when you do not agree

Hi there! I am so excited to be here and offering both technology courses and ELA themed courses. I have many great options coming to you as I build more classes.
I have been a teacher for 15 years and have taught from Kindergarten- 8th grade in public schools. In these experiences, I have taught all subjects but am the most energized and passionate about teaching ELA (reading, phonics, vocabulary, etc.). Additionally, I am a Microsoft Innovated Educator Trainer and have a lot of training and teaching experience with Microsoft. I have a master's degree in Learning and Technology.
My belief is that students who feel good learn best. Students who feel valued by their teacher and feel like they are an integral part of the class want to participate and engage in the materials. Building relationships is key to success.
Dogs make me so happy! We currently have four. They are always by my side and eager for all the love they can get. I have two amazing teenagers and a hard-working husband. I look forward to developing a relationship with you and your child!
