Class Experience

What do you think is the most important part of a child's education? Your answer
might be math or reading, and while those are important subjects, you might be
overlooking one HUGE component: Social and emotional intelligence. These are the
skills we teach our kids that will help them succeed in school and later in life.
Not only will social-emotional skills benefit kids in the future, but they're also
necessary for the classroom. It helps kids understand that there are appropriate
ways to behave (like keeping their hands to themselves or sitting still when
required).
So when we want our kids to succeed, form healthy relationships, and feel good
about themselves, we focus on social-emotional learning, and that's what these classes will focus on.

In this session, we will focus specifically on self-awareness ( emotions), which is the ability to recognize and understand your own emotions, thoughts, and values. Self-awareness is understanding how these emotions, thoughts, and values influence your behavior. Self-awareness also includes recognizing your strengths and limitations and feeling confident and purposeful. Students will learn how to recognize and manage their emotions in fun and practical ways through engaging hands-on activities, games, songs story times, and insightful discussions.
Students will have the opportunity to apply these skills in their everyday lives.
