Social Emotional Learning-Summer Theme

In this one time class, students will learn and practice mindfulness techniques to help identify and manage emotions, growing their self-awareness and positively influencing their relationship skills.

Class Experience

1. Students will identify different types of emotions.
2. Students will practice age appropriate meditation, breathing, and yoga exercises to help manage difficult emotions.
3. Students will listen to a story and complete activities based on the theme of the class.
I am a certified yoga teacher and social emotional learning facilitator through the program Breathe For Change. This program was specifically designed for educators in order to effectively teach mindfulness in the classroom. 
Please come to class feeling comfortable! Choose a cozy and quiet place in your home or outside.
30 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
This class incorporates some movement and simple yoga poses. Please make sure your learner has an open space for the class, with any dangerous objects out of reach. Please make sure your learner comes to class in comfortable clothing that is suitable for movement. We will engage in simple stretches and breathing exercises at the beginning of class to warm up and prepare our bodies for learning.
