I will be teaching social emotional skills appropriate for elementary aged children. The material will be presented in a variety of ways including: books, songs, videos, role playing, activities, and discussions. This class will help your child learn necessary social emotional skills that will help them throughout their lives. The children will learn social emotional skills such as: identifying and controlling emotions, calming techniques, turn-taking, and solving social problems.
I have received numerous trainings on Social/Emotional Learning from Conscious Discipline Master Instructors, North Carolina Dept of Public Instruction, Cox Campus, and in-house trainings. I was also trained to be a Coach on Social/Emotional Learning for other teachers in my school.
All of the reading will be done during the session. There will, however, be optional resources shared that can be done at home on the children's own time and this will include books, activities, and songs.
Paper, writing utensils
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
30 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
