Social Club: Show and Tell
What's included

30 mins in-class hours per weekClass Experience
This class is labeled as a social club but don't we all learn so much from sharing and speaking with one another?! In this ongoing class, Outschoolers will be able to share about themselves and learn about others. They are the leaders of this group and I am the facilitator. Each child should come prepared each week to share a little something about himself or herself. Here are some suggested topics: -bring a toy or game that you love -share something you drew or built -tell some funny jokes -share an excerpt from a book or magazine that you found to be hysterical or interesting -share a verbal story about something you did or something that happened in your life, following the Outschool Safe Sharing Policies -bring a photograph from your life and tell us about the person or what is happening in the photo -share about a vacation or trip you recently went on, using words and/or pictures Outschoolers may also like to create a presentation to share with their fellow club members. There are many ways this can be done. -powerpoint presentation -iMovie -video -picture slideshow *If your child would like to present with formal material such as those listed above. Please send the presentation 24 hours in advance so that I can review the material and have it ready to present within our Outschool Zoom class. Deeper and More Formal Topics Can Be Shared: *A handout (pdf document) will be provided to guide your child through creating a more formal presentation. He or she can design this project, using technology, or by making a poster board collage, holding up single picture cards as he speaks, etc. -My Country Presentation -My State Presentation -My Language (the handout will outline what topics to teach and cover) *We will discuss guidelines and procedures during the first club meeting and will revisit these expectations as needed. *My seven-year-old daughter might like to join us for some club meetings to listen and share as well.
Learning Goals
Outschoolers will be able to share and speak about themselves using tangible items, pictures, and/or formal presentation methods.

Teacher expertise and credentials
Hi, I’m Jenny! I am so excited to be a part of this space and community with you. I was immediately drawn to this platform because of the openness, flexibility, and freedom it provides to impact students in the most unique way.
I hope to meet learners where they are at, gathering their interests, determining their strengths, and helping them to succeed in areas they struggle with.
I have a Bachelors of Science in Elementary Education, K-6th grades. My Masters Degree is in Educational Leadership. I am a Florida Certified Teacher with a Reading and ESOL endorsement.
I taught 4th grade for six years and was a writing resource teacher for two years. I worked within two different public schools.
After eight years of teaching, I decided to stay home with my kids. I am currently homeschooling my first grader and three year old.
I worked for the YMCA for six years prior to teaching. I was involved with many different programs such as after school, summer camps, Teen Leaders Club, Girls Circle, The Ophelia Project, etc.
Sometimes the classes I offer on Outschool will be academic based, diving deep into reading or writing skills. Other times, I will host social clubs that will vary in topics.
I also look forward to providing one-on-one tutoring so that I am able to address students’ individualized needs.
In my free time, I love to create through blogging, vlogging, and designing for social media. This hobby has provided me with a tremendous amount of knowledge and expertise that, maybe, I could share one day here too.
