Class Experience

Videos and shows will NOT be shown in class. Class discussion is based on videos and shows which students will have accessed prior to class. This is not innately an art class, rather a social club for artists to share art created prior to class.

In this safe space for anime fans, learners will interact with one another and grow their social skills, chatting with others with similar interests as well as interacting with an attentive and knowledgeable teacher. Learners will participate in discussions about their favorite anime and manga, share jokes, and interact in a friendly atmosphere where others can enjoy the experience.
As a teacher, I will patiently listen and participate in the discussion, asking questions of interest while encouraging interaction and conversation. As an anime and manga fan myself, I enjoy learning new things and seeing people get excited about what they love to watch and read. Interaction and creativity is encouraged and ideas and thoughts are respected for all those who take part. The class itself is learner-led and discussion is based on what learners wish to talk about. Should conversation stray for too long away from anime and manga, a prompting question for discussion will be given to draw learners back. This social club encourages all learners to be themselves and have fun! Games can be played based on learner interest (examples being pictonary or madlibs) and any other activities which learners wish to participate in.

If the learner wants, they are free to bring any art they have done or any other items of interest that they may want to show off to the group regarding anime and manga.

Anime discussed in this class may not be appropriate for all ages. Parental discretion is advised. As a teacher, I will do my best to direct away from topics which are distasteful to learners and keep learner safety in mind at all times. As a teacher, I will also advise learners to review or discuss anime they wish to watch with their parents before watching. Anime may be recommended or discussed by other students or the teacher based on learners' preexisting interests.

I enjoy making things hands-on and engaging learning to add a mixture of art and creativity. I love encouraging growth and creativity in learners and watching them shine. I know that every piece of art is beautiful and that there is something creative which can be gained from using that art within a class.
