In this class we will play a whole group debating game where students respond to silly questions using accountable talk sentence frames on each slide to assist with the discussion. Students will take turns defending their positions to funny yet puzzling questions such as “Is a hot dog a sandwich?” or “Do straws have two holes or one?” This is a social class not a debate team, as we are here to meet new friends and have a good time. It’s ok to mess up, we welcome laughs and positive energy. The teacher will act as the moderator and will expect all students to participate in the debate.
