Social Club: Color, Chat, and Work on Conversational Skills With Friends!
What's included
1 live meeting
25 mins in-class hours per weekClass Experience
In this ongoing social club, learners will practice their communication and socialization skills by engaging in discussion with one another and the teacher! Each week we will look at a different topic, talk about how we relate to the topic, and create a piece of art with that topic in mind! Schedule will be similar to the following: 1. Greeting/How are you? Students will say hello to the teacher and one another. Students will learn about the topic of the week by looking at a few basic slides and talking about how they relate to the topic. For example, during the "snow" week we will look at a few pictures of snow/creations made from snow, and learn that snowflakes are each unique. Students can share how they relate to snow... the might share that is does now fall where they live, or that they love building snowmen! Each discussion will be teacher prompted but student centered. 2. Creating: Students will create with the materials they have! Each week I will provide a coloring sheet that your student can bring to class that is related to the topic of the week! OR they can use play doh or draw their own picture! (Students are welcome to bring crafting material if they would like, but please keep in mind this is a 25 minute class). 3. Discussion: The students will chat with one another and the teacher! Positive feedback will be shared! 4. Sharing: At the end of class each student will get to hold up what they created! More positive feedback will be given! Students may wish to talk about what they would do differently next time. 5. Goodbye/ See you next time! **If you are enrolled in a class and feel you would like to switch sections please private message me and I will be happy to accommodate. While the class minimum is 3 (best for discussion) class will run with two learners but will be closer to 20-25 minutes depending on student engagement/creation time! Parents, please assist your child off camera when needed. This class is aimed for students 4 - 7, but 3 and 8 year old students are more than welcome to join as well! I try to allow the children to keep their microphones on at all times as I want the children to be able to answer questions and interact with one another; because of this, please find a quiet space in your house for your child to take class. If there is a lot of background noise I will ask that you mute and unmute your child during class time. Thank you for understanding :) Weekly Themes *Class runs year round! I will update the schedule as the dates approach. Students are strongly encouraged to participate in class discussion and will be asked questions during class time. However, if a child is not comfortable sharing they will not be forced. As an early childhood educator I understand that students will share when they are ready! Optional Coloring sheets for each week will be posted to the classroom tab by 7PM (MST) the Sunday prior to class (I will try to/often post them early afternoon/evening when able to do so).
