Class Experience

Would you like your learner to be motivated to really care about Spanish speakers? Excellent! Yes, this is a beginner Spanish language class; at the same time, a main goal of a language class is to communicate with people, so we should focus on the people. As your Spanish tutor, I feel this is important. This way we can soar with Spanish!

This Spanish class includes learning Spanish culture, conversation and language. As a tutor, I'll guide students to learn common phrases so that we can have easy conversations with Spanish speakers. The teaching style can allow for the students to express themselves and also interact with one another.

There are many Spanish-speaking cultures, which include different vocabulary, customs and more. For example, there are different cultures in just one country such as Mexico! You'll see differences and similarities also if you compare Mexico to Argentina. Many Spanish-speaking cultures are social, and music, food and dance are popular.

Many Spanish speakers have left their homes from other countries to look for work. Also, not all know how to read and write in Spanish like we do in English. If you live in the United States or Canada, it may be that Spanish speakers from your area come from Guatemala, El Salvador or Honduras. Or maybe they are from Cuba or Puerto Rico. It's reasonable to say they may be happy when people can speak their language.

What would you like to learn during this Spanish class? Please tell me, and we can try to include it into our lessons!

**Typical Class Outline**

5 min Greet and homework review
20 min Class Content
                               Primary material
                               Grammar
Breakout rooms if needed to strengthen conversation
                               Project/assignment presentation if applicable
5 min Conclusion including homework, ending with motivation!

In each class, I like to include:

*translating the students' thoughts into Spanish,
*grammar to varying degrees,
*screensharing so the students can see written what we are talking about, and
*a blend of class instruction and breakout rooms for efficiency depending on the class size.

A goal of the aforementioned is for the class to be more interesting, relevant and easier to remember.

Learning Goals
Students will enjoy learning what some have said is the second most widely spoken language in the United States. We will follow a schedule of topics to learn, which will help children use what they learn. By the end of the course, students will have expanded their knowledge with the topics of chores, weekend activities / hobbies, animals, food and clothing / currency. The content builds upon the approximate equivalence of Soar with Spanish 1. Also, we want to create opportunities to practice Spanish and focus on people.
