Class Experience

US Grade 2 - 3
Disaster has struck! The Easter Bunny's entire stash of chocolate eggs has vanished, leaving our favourite Rabbit with nothing to deliver to children on Easter morning. With the big day approaching fast, the mystery must be solved and the eggs restored.

In this one time class, learners will find out how to plan their short story after looking at the elements that they'll need to include to write a mystery including:
How to create the problem
How to leave clues for your reader
Possible ways that their Bunny can go about solving the mystery
How to build suspense
How to reach a resolution
Bringing everything together at the end.

Learners will have the chance to discuss how they will use descriptive language to write the character of the Easter Bunny.

During writing time, students can choose to:
Plan their story out to write later.
Make a basic plan and begin to write their story.
Go straight into writing their story.

Please note that although the class has a seasonal setting, the focus is on the 'Bunny' character and the 'solving a problem' aspect of the story and there is no religious content.
Learning Goals
Students will learn how to:
Plan a story and the elements that are necessary for a mystery story.
