US Grade 3 - 5
In this class, learners will talk about what characteristics define a fairytale and how to incorporate traditional elements into their tale, but with a bit of a modern twist. Maybe the princess will rescue a prince stuck in a tower, or the dragon take over the kingdom and be the best ruler they ever had? Perhaps the Three Bears open a hotel or the Ice Queen sorts out the melting polar caps? Learners will explore how to plan out a story and use character development and descriptive writing effectively. Whether using known fairytale characters or making up their own, learners will produce a story that the Brothers Grimm would certainly have wanted in their collection!
