Description

Class Experience

This class teaches the writing process! Each day, students will go through a part of the writing process. Students will master 3 different writing prompts. Learners will work on their collaboration skills by brainstorming ideas. They will also learn to be good audience members and share feedback as they listen to others share their writing.

Students will learn how to go through the Writing Process. They will practice by completing the process with a Personal Narrative, Research Writing, and Opinion Writing.

 I hold a B.S. in Elementary Education and have 5 years experience teaching Communication Skills in Elementary Schools in the U.S.

For homework, students will be given a planning Graphic Organizer to print and complete. After each day’s session, students are required to either complete the rough draft or share their writing with someone. By the end of the week-long-class, they will have completed three well developed writing samples: a Personal Narrative, a Research Writing, and an Opinion Writing.

No supplies are required besides pencils, a notebook, crayons and a printer. I will be leading the students through their writing during class. Please let me know if you have any questions.

In addition to the Outschool classroom, this class uses:Google Slides

Informal assessment will take place during each class based on what they share from their writing. If a parent requests, I can provide a letter grade.
