Students in this class will be challenged and encouraged by an experienced actor/director/producer to learn the basics of acting (with a sprinkling of more challenging advanced techniques). In addition to learning the basics, students will select a monologue and learn how the professionals break it down. Students will learn the basics of acting including (but not limited to) cheating out, projection, entrances and exits, how to create dynamic characters, stage directions, and scene work.
I have been teaching acting for over 25 years and have owned a children's theatre for 15 years! I love developing sharing my passion and helping kids to develop confidence and a passion for performing arts!
Students will be given observation homework such as observing character movements, behaviors, motivations.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
Parents are welcome to join us for the final class for a special parent observation of our progress.
55 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 0 - 1 hours per week outside of class.
