This trivia challenge will be about different dog breeds. Various questions and game activities will take place throughout the class to test students' knowledge of the physical appearance, history, facts and traits associated with different dog breeds. The question style will vary throughout the lesson. At times, students will be asked to identify dog breeds by their picture. At other times, they will be provided with facts to match with a breed. Some TRUE/FALSE and YES/NO questions as well as a few rounds of "Two Truths and a Lie" will also be played. All correct answers will be discussed as the class progresses so that any mistakes made by learners transform into fun learning opportunities.

A brief portion of this class may include a Nearpod activity if time allows. Students will be provided with a link in the chat box of the Zoom meet. They will need to click on the link to enter the Nearpod and answer questions interactively from their own computer screens. If they are unable to enter the Nearpod, they can continue to view that portion of the class through my screen and tell me their answers verbally. If we do not complete the Nearpod activity during the lesson, they will be able ro complete it on their own after class.

Working with animals has always been an important part of my life. I worked as a volunteer for many years at a Long Island dog shelter exercising and training homeless dogs. I also fostered papillons for a papillon specific rescue group. I trained to be a dog groomer. I've owned dogs of many breeds including a papillon, miniature schnauzer, Australian shepherd, great pyrenees and newfoundland. I am the owner of a small horse farm on the eastern end of Long Island and an adjunct professor in Equine Studies at Post University.
