Class Experience

Your first day of work can be nerve wrecking and can leave you feeling lost, but with my very important tips on what to do and know on your first day of work you will do just fine! I will discuss common things like attendance policies, schedules, how to end your work day, lunch break policies, clocking in or out, what to do when you don’t know what to do, and how to be a star employee. This is a discussion style class for young teens that have just landed their first job. All students will have a chance to ask any of their questions at the end of the class.
Learning Goals
Students will go into their first day of work knowing a little about what to expect and what not to do.

My name is Emily, I have been homeschooling my kids since 2017. I was a franchise manager for almost a decade and left that for a grand opening operations manager for local franchises hosting grand openings. In this role not only did I have to host grand openings for the new businesses but I had to do interviews and hire the right team along with coach them. I have done numerous interviews and hiring in the past years and feel I can truly help your teen get ready for their interview. We will be discussing the common questions they will hear and the not so common but very important questions they will be asked. I will also go over the #1 thing hiring managers hate to hear. With a few other very important pointers all people walking into an interview should know. Let’s get your child confident and ready for their new journey.

I currently left work to stay home and raise my children, and be the caregiver to my father. I am also currently back in school and once finished I will be a licensed counselor. In my younger days and my first round of college I got my first responder certificate, learned ASL and took some social and behavioral classes. On my free time we are a very active family. We ride dirt bikes, bicycles, swim, fish (but we throw the fish back in) I love anything that has to do with animals, camping, and exploring new places and foods. I also have a very bad sweet tooth. Candy, cake, cookies, pizza you name it I’m all for it!

PLEASE HAVE STUDENTS SHOW UP ON TIME. Unfortunately I can’t go over time if they are late and I have a class starting after them. Please feel free to message me with any questions. I work my best to end classes on time but occasionally the class may go over (as long as another class doesn’t start after) or end early depending on the amount of questions that I need to answer. Every question is important. Thank you for understanding.
