Description
Class Experience
This 6-day course will introduce children to some of the other common digraphs that we see on a daily basis. On the first day, we will review reading words from Part 1 of this course series, which focused on long vowel digraphs. Following the quick review, we will begin working on sh, ch, and th. We find using pictures to match the words to, helps the children stay engaged and they get excited when they get them correct. You have to admit... everything is way more fun when there are pictures...
Children will review long vowel digraphs begin learning some new digraphs, that we see in our everyday life. They will then use their previous knowledge, along with what they will learn in this course, to be able to blend the letters together in more challenging words.

After every class, the teacher will supply each child with 20 words to practice reading. When practicing these words, the goal isn't for the children to memorize them, the goal is for them to practice blending phonetic letter sounds and digraphs together, and begin reading. Please don't force your child to practice. Creating a positive and supportive learning environment is the first step in ensuring a love for reading and learning! If you have any questions or need any tips to try and encourage your child to practice reading, please feel free to reach out to us! We are always here for you!
