Class Experience

US Grade Pre-Kindergarten - 2
In this class the students will use dough for a variety of purposes. You may use any kind of dough that you like such as Playdough, model magic or homemade dough. The dough will be used for practicing various concepts like letters, number etc. and for play. Students will use the dough to strengthen their fingers and hands. This will help their fine motor skills. Students will have the opportunity to make their own creations with dough and share with the class. This will help them practice public speaking. I feel learning needs to be fun in order for children to retain the concepts they are taught. I try to keep the children engaged using Snowy the Snowman and his mailbox. Snowy brings excitement to the class.

Learning Goals

Students will practice letters, numbers, shapes, and counting. Students will learn to be creative and practice public speaking.

Hello and welcome to my profile! I have been a teacher with Outschool since 2020. I enjoy teaching students of all ages. Some of my specialties include preparing Pre-K children for Kindergarten both academically as well as socially. I also enjoy teaching ESL to students from all over the world. I enjoy making learning fun. My snowman Snowy engages the students each week with his mail that he sends to the children. Snowy is just one of the unique ways we have fun in class while learning. I truly believe that children need to have fun while learning in order for the concept to really sink in and be understood.

I graduated from UNCW with a Bachelor's Degree in English. After college I started my teaching career as a high school English teacher. I left the profession to raise my four children. I decided to return to my career and have enjoyed teaching many years as a Pre-K teacher.
I am also an online ESL ( English as a Second Language) teacher with VIPKid. I enjoy getting to know my students both in the United States and all over the world!

I love snow! This is something that the kids always seem to really enjoy. I love hearing the children laugh and seeing those precious smiles while we enjoy learning together. My husband and children love to travel. We enjoy camping all over the USA. I also have a black lab named Snowflake and a cat named Chloe. I hope to see your child in class soon!
