We will paint this gentle snow, dramatic sky watercolor. Students will learn how watercolors can softly blend together. We discuss how to create a hard and soft edge. Students will learn how to load their brushes properly to achieve just the right combination of paint and water. They will be able to choose their own colors for the background. I like to give just enough instruction to guide their painting while leaving room for them to express their own creativity. We will play with the paint all while learning a little color theory at the same time.
Learning Goals
Learn to create soft and bold areas to make a dynamic painting.

Teacher expertise and credentials
Bachelor's Degree in Psychology from Argosy
Hello! As a long-time preschool and art facilitator, I am excited to offer art classes for Outschool. . During my 20 plus years of facilitating classes. I have honed my skills to teach a variety of classes including acrylics, watercolors, and drawing. These classes are for adults, youth, and preschool aged children. My experience includes working with deaf and hard of hearing children with a variety of other special needs. I have a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Psychology and am intrigued by the effect that creating modalities have on the brain. Lately I have been playing with using just a palette knife while painting and have been enjoying the loose effects I am achieving. I even offer a finger painting class which includes a book that emerged while teaching it in classes. I grew up on a farm that I am lucky enough to still visit and find a lot of my inspiration from the fields and animals there. My cow paintings have become somewhat of a phenomenon.
