This class is taught in English.

Students will be assessed informally through participation, questioning, and by completing a snowman drawing by following verbal 2 and 3 step directions given by the teacher.

Parents can practice at home, providing students clear 1, 2, and 3 step auditory directions (depending on their proficiencies.)
1. Be sure you have your child's attention and eye contact.
2.  Minimize distractions.
3.  Speak calmly and quietly. Tell them--don't ask.
4.  Give short instructions 1 at a time.  
5.  Number your directions. (First, do ___.  Then, do ___).
6.  Use “wait time.” Give students a minute to think before repeating your direction.
7.  Check for understanding. Ask them to repeat directions back to you.
8.  Repeat the direction if needed.  If the child if still not able to complete the direction, break the directions down into smaller components and repeat.
