Snowmen at Night: Listening Comprehension for Preschoolers
In this one-time class, students will listen to the teacher read "Snowmen at Night" by Caralyn Boehne, follow specific verbal directions, answer comprehension questions, and complete a drawing of a snowman.

Class Experience
This class is taught in English.
Students will be assessed informally through participation, questioning, and by completing a snowman drawing by following verbal 2 and 3 step directions given by the teacher.
Elementary Education--certified (with preschool, elementary, and middle school teaching experience) Preschool Special Education--certified Gifted and Talented Endorsement Reading Endorsement
Parents can practice at home, providing students clear 1, 2, and 3 step auditory directions (depending on their proficiencies.) 1. Be sure you have your child's attention and eye contact. 2. Minimize distractions. 3. Speak calmly and quietly. Tell them--don't ask. 4. Give short instructions 1 at a time. 5. Number your directions. (First, do ___. Then, do ___). 6. Use “wait time.” Give students a minute to think before repeating your direction. 7. Check for understanding. Ask them to repeat directions back to you. 8. Repeat the direction if needed. If the child if still not able to complete the direction, break the directions down into smaller components and repeat.

Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
