In this one-time class, students will learn an overview of the skeletal system. Then, I will challenge students to make their own replica using q-tips and glue. This class idea came from my son who was asking to learn about different bones and what they look like. I will begin class with getting to know my learners for a few minutes. Then, I will provide an overview of the skeletal system. We will sing/act out different bones located in our bodies. From there, students will have the chance to design their own skeletal system with guidance from me. If time permits, we will share our skeletons.
Learning Goals
Students will learn about some of the major bones in our bodies.

Teacher expertise and credentials
Hi there! My name is Beckie and I live in Georgia. I have been teaching in a public school setting for 8 years. I've taught 3rd, 4th, 7th and 8th grade. I love providing my students with hands-on and engaging activities. I believe in implementing STEM, critical thinking, and higher levels of learning in the classroom setting. My favorite part of teaching is when my learners share their excitement with others. My goal is for your child to not only learn new concepts, but to build a passion for something new. I was voted "Teacher of the Year" a few years ago; therefore, I strive to provide my students with a learning environment that gets them excited to learn new concepts and ideas.
In my free time I enjoy reading, cooking, and exploring new parks with my family. I look forward to teaching your child!
