Each week, students will be given a photography challenge to be completed throughout the week on their own time. These assignments can take as little or as much time as learners prefer.Class Experience
Calling all Photographers! Do you love seeing the world through the lens of a camera? Do you find yourself running out of space on your phone or memory card from all the amazing snapshots you've taken? If the answer is yes, then this photography club is for you! No previous photography knowledge needed! Each week, learners will have the opportunity to learn different fundamentals of photography along with a chance to take their own cameras for a spin with a creative photography challenge matching the week's theme. Each challenge will be completed throughout the week during non classroom time. At the beginning of each class, students will all have the opportunity to share photos they have captured and open up for friendly evaluations and critiques. A brief introduction to the week's lesson will then be discussed along with examples and/or demonstrations. Students are encouraged to have their cameras out during this time to follow along with any tips or tricks being demonstrated. Students are required to have a camera, however, there is no need for high-tech DSLR cameras. It is most optimal to have a camera that is capable of shooting in manual mode that allows you to adjust your own settings, but most camera phones these days work perfectly fine as well. Students will then be given a photography challenge to complete on their own time throughout the week following the current lesson. Here is a brief rundown of the first four weeks topics we will be going over: Saturday, 1/22 - Exposure Saturday, 1/29 - White Balance Saturday, 2/5- Composition and the 4 Rules of Photography Saturday, 2/12 - Framing This club is a fantastic way to meet new shutterbug friends with similar love and interest in Creative Photography! Students are not required to subscribe for each week. Learners are free to subscribe or unsubscribe at any time should they not be interested in a certain topic we will be discussing during a particular week. A schedule of which topics we'll be discussing will be updated once this current schedule has passed. I look forward to going on many creative and amazing adventures with you all!
