In this first class in a series of eight on the parts of speech, students will learn all about nouns in a Smoky Mountains-themed classroom.
Class experience
Put on your hiking boots, grab your backpack, and let's explore the Smokies together as we hunt for all the nouns we can discover there. In this class, your child will enjoy a fun mountain theme while learning all about nouns. Using colorful slides I've created with fun clip-art, we will explore all the people, places, animals, and things we can find in the Smoky Mountains. Students will learn that a noun is a person, place, animal, thing, or idea. They will learn the difference between common and proper nouns, when to capitalize nouns, and how to make nouns plural.
Each student will need a Bingo card for our Nouns Bingo game. I'll send a link to you before class so you can have it printed out for your student.
