Class Experience

This class is perfect for all levels of learners, from the math-fearing to the total lover of math. No specific math knowledge will necessarily be needed as we will be doing math without even knowing we're doing math - it will be embedded in an art class!

This class will open with a quick problem to warm up our brains and to introduce curves of pursuit. We will then discuss what curves of pursuit are, history, uses, etc., and then, together we will learn how to create them ourselves. Finally, we will end with a gallery walk, sharing our curves of pursuit with each other.

This class will be fun, collaborative, and interactive. We will learn all about a mathematical principle while also learning how to create a piece of artwork!

Learning Goals

Students will create curves of pursuit using math.
