Description
Class Experience
With a new weekly story, students will practice phonics and decoding skills each class period, in conjunction with confidence-building activities, ELA-based word work activities, and many layers of practice with a goal of improving overall reading.
I have found the best results are achieved with students that complete daily reading practice (the assigned story) as well as a short (10-15 minute) independent tasks assigned prior to each class period. These are not mandatory, but highly beneficial and reinforce what we are working on during class.
4 files available upon enrollmentPlease print the weekly story prior to our first meeting of the week. Student will also need a pencil and colored pencils/crayons/highlighters in Red, Blue, Yellow, Green.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
Assessments are based on classroom performance and teacher observation. I will communicate via Outschool messaging if I believe a learner would benefit from adjusting level and placement.
1 hour 30 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 0 - 1 hours per week outside of class.
