Students will have music to practice each week that was covered in class. No more than 30 mins a week.Class Experience
In this ongoing class students will learn how to read and play music on the treble and bass clefs, perform simple pieces with confidence, learn music notations and musical symbols. It is very important kids are having FUN while they learn. Don't be surprised if you hear, "the floor is lava," or "would you rather..." during class. There are also opportunities to share screen and play on an interactive piano at the same time as the teacher and other students. This class in nowhere near boring! Students will be given specific music to play each week with strong teacher guidance as they learn to play. Each week students will have the opportunity to play what they have learned for other students in the class; and receive positive feedback from the teacher for musical growth. This is a relaxed and positive class environment.

All students will need a dry erase marker, keyboard or piano; and preferably a way to print music after it is posted in the classroom.

Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.

Hello Friends! My name is Jaime. I have been teaching music to children and youth for many years! It truly makes my heart happy to teach and share my musical gifts with others. I have a degree in Music Education and run a local music studio, Little Maestros, in addition to teaching on Outschool.
My teaching style is laid back as I want my leaners to feel at ease while they learn. It’s my responsibility to adapt my teaching to the student, not the other way around. I have a great deal of experience teaching neurodiverse learners, who need learning modifications. (Music works magic).
A few fun personal things about me: I love to sing, play outside (especially running and hiking) and have 2 rescue dogs.
