This is a fun and interactive social club for students with ADHD or other executive function needs. For children with ADHD, decreased right brain activity sometimes causes inappropriate social behaviors such as impulsive actions and lack of attention. These challenges can make it difficult to form friendships and attend to social cues needed for effective interaction. In this class, we will work on social skills such as not interrupting or talking over each other, reading social clues and body language. Other skills include, sharing, playing well, and losing fair at games. (emotional regulation) In addition to keeping class fun and laid-back, I'll sneak in tips and tricks for staying organized, study habits, and of course... social skills! There is no breakdown of weekly classes because class is personalized to students currently in class and topics of conversation can be led by student's interests. Games we may play in class are: MadLibs, Kahoot, Bingo, Hangman, "What's in the bag", Whose line is it anyways, and many more!
