Intermediate Level
Students will learn how to confidently add and subtract fractions with like and unlike denominators using various strategies such as visual models, least common denominators, and real-world applications. Introduction to Fractions – Understanding numerators, denominators, and equivalent fractions Adding and Subtracting Fractions with Like Denominators – Simple fraction operations Finding the Least Common Denominator (LCD) – Strategies for unlike denominators Adding and Subtracting Fractions with Unlike Denominators – Step-by-step approach Word Problems and Real-Life Applications – Applying fraction skills in real-world contexts Class structure will include warm-ups, interactive mini-lesson, guided practice, collaborative learning, independent practice, and closing and reflection. Teaching strategies will include visual and hands-on, gamification, step-by-step instructions, and collaborative learning. Teaching Style is engaging, interactive, and student-centered. Student Interaction will include during lectures, group discussions, games, one-on-one support
Learning Goals
Students will be able to confidently add and subtract fractions with like and unlike denominators, simplify their answers, and apply their knowledge to solve real-world fraction problems.
Understand Fraction Fundamentals – Identify numerators and denominators, recognize equivalent fractions, and explain how fractions represent parts of a whole.

The lesson will incorporate multisensory learning by using visual models, hands-on manipulatives, and interactive activities to reinforce understanding. Differentiated instruction will be provided through small-group instruction
