This class would make a wonderful Holiday gift! We make a wonderful variety of meats, soups/stews, casseroles, breakfast foods, etc. in a slow cooker. Class will run 30 minutes each week. Join us for some good cooking!

Class experience

Students will become more confident and independent in the kitchen. They will learn about seasonings and spices, basic cooking techniques, kitchen safety, and more, collecting recipes they can go back to with confidence and cook again.
My cooking experience began probably around 5 years old. We had 6 kids growing up plus, relatives close in age that were often around for meals. (I never learned to cook in small quantity!) Being the oldest, I always helped in the kitchen and learned to love cooking, canning and baking from a young age. I might say my mom was a great teacher! With our 5 children I felt it important to teacher them from a young age to be confident and knowledgeable in the kitchen, and to enjoy the process.
Homework Offered
We will complete the crock pot meal assembly in class. Students will be responsible for the finishing preparations outlined in classroom page. We will talk about sides you might consider for your families tastes to have a balanced meal. This may be creating a simple salad and having ready made dressing, rolls or bread, or rice/potatoes for the meal to be served over.

The list of all tools and appliances needed will come with the recipe the week prior to class.
You will have the recipes a week before we create them.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
You know best if your child is comfortable using the stove top, as well as a knife or other small appliances, (crock pot, etc.). If you or your child are uncomfortable with that, please be available to assist them as needed.
