Topics covered will pertain to where sloths are located, the habitat they live in, the most common questions children might have about sloths, an activity portion, and live videos of sloths that children will enjoy. Students will better understand the life of a sloth and be able to share facts that they have learned with family members. Students will be able to make connections of what they know of sloths and what they have learned.
As a third grade teacher, I have taught specifically about the difference between the habitats and animal adaptations which makes me excited about choosing to focus on one of my favorite wildlife animals!
No homework will be assigned.
Students will need a pencil and a blank piece of paper, whether copy paper OR lined paper.
Informal assessment: Participation and Discussion
20 minutes per week in class, and no time outside of class.
There will be a third party site accessed [YOUTUBE] in order to show two videos to the learners that are already embedded into the Google Slides presentation. One video will show baby sloths and the other is a dance with one of the most known sloths. You do not need an account or anything for this as it is to be shown on Zoom screen share when class is in session.
We will be accessing a Google Slideshow made with resources from credible sites such as National Geographic and the Sloth Conservatory Foundation. Two Youtube videos are to be embedded into the Google Slides presentation, one that shows a selection of baby sloths and the Ice Age Sid Shuffle dance.
