Let's get philiSLOTHical! I could not be more excited and passionate about all things sloths! Since I started teaching this class, it has been the highlight of my week and I know it will be just that for your learner too! Students will learn TRUE factual information on sloths 100% guaranteed! All the information provided to students have been personally cross checked by a professional sloth technician in Costa Rica working at the Sloth Conservation Foundation. In this weekly class, students will learn through interactive slides, games, and video in addition to applying critical thinking skills to discover the biological science behind sloths. Additionally, I will provide fun, SLOTHtastic activity sheets for learners to enjoy after each class if they choose. =) (i.e coloring sheets, cross word, word search, riddles, etc) <Course Breakdown> Class 1- Prehistoric sloths, types and species + sloth myths debunked! Class 2- Habitat, Behavior, and Diet Class 3- Biology and anatomy + rare footage of a baby sloth birth Class 4- Dangers sloths face & conservation efforts + a final hollistic SLOTHtastic game
Learning Goals
Students will learn TRUE factual information on sloths guaranteed! All the information provided to students have been personally cross checked by a professional sloth technician in Costa Rica working at the Sloth Conservation Foundation. I am extremely passionate about sloths so it is important to me that I teach accurate and factual information about sloths as there is a lot of false information on the web about them.
Other Details
Parental Guidance
In class 3, we will be briefly talking about sloth mating. This discussion of class will be PG, however I do plan to show the birth of a baby sloth. (It is pretty facinating) If you would like to view this video before class for your learner, please reach out and I will send you the video to review.
