In this class students will learn with reference photos, step by step instruction, demonstration, and inquiry based questions. Students will interact with the teacher through video chat. The class will begin with an introduction to rivers in landscapes followed by instructions for how to create a landscape drawing. Students will learn how the horizon line creates space in a composition by separating the foreground from the background. Students will be shown how to look for and use geometric shapes as a foundation for drawing their sloth and the forest. Students will explore different kinds of lines as they design trees, clouds and rocks. Students will consider how and where to add detail in a composition.
Learning Goals
Students will learn about several elements of art while creating this drawing including, line, shape, texture and space. Students will learn the definition of a landscape.

Students need plain paper, pencil and an eraser.
