Class 1: Students will learn the rules of identifying the slope from an equation, table and two coordinate points. Class 2: Students will learn the rule of identifying the slope from a linear equation on a graph and word problems. Class 3: Students will identify the y-intercept of equations in slope-intercept form, from word problems, graphs and tables. Class 4: Students will apply the knowledge learned on previous lessons to represent the equation on a graph. Students will these lesson with notes organized in a manner that they will be able to come back to them for any future assignments they might have.
Learning Goals
The goal of this lesson is to have students learn the steps necessary to identify the slope and y-intercept of linear equations written in slope-intercept form.
