Class Experience

We will start the class with greetings and introductions.
In this class we will define what an adjective is and make slime at the end of the lesson. On a shared screen, display google slides, I will explain an adjective is a word that describes a person, place, thing and idea (Noun). I will explain further that adjective describes color, size, how it feels, tastes, how many and how it sounds. I will play a song about adjectives. Then, I will model and go over expectations about turn taking to share an idea. We will all take turns sharing an item/toy from home. We will come up with adjectives to describe the items students are sharing.

I will display the sentence frame on the screen and sing the silly sentence I created with the Farmer and the Dell tune. The slimy monster (repeat 2X) flew quickly into the water.
Then, students will make slime and take turns coming up with adjectives orally to describe it. For example: gooey slime, squishy slime, blue slime, soft slime.

If time allows students may design their slime and turn them into monsters with beads, google eyes and sharpies.
Students will share their silly sentence and slime monster with their peers (If time permits.
Teacher will end by sharing a slime monster enhanced with animation on chatterpix app that students can do on their own (optional).
