In this ongoing, small-group class, students can talk about slimes and work out puzzles and ranch plans with other gamers, as we all play the video game, Slime Rancher, together. Come join us in this wonderfully wiggly adventure!

Class experience

Students will improve their social skills by talking about their ranch and design plans with other slime ranchers.
They will improve their hand-eye coordination skills by playing a 3D, open-world, adventure game.
They will also improve their puzzle-solving skills as they work through the mysteries of the Far, Far Range and decide how they want to run their ranch.
I love this game and have beaten it many times. I would love to help young ranchers plan and puzzle through this wonderfully wiggly game.

In addition to the Outschool classroom, this class uses:
Students will be playing the video game, Slime Rancher. They will be talking to each other as they play, but each student will have their own, separate game, as Slime Rancher has no multiplayer mode.

In this game, students will use their vac-pack to vacuum up happy, little slimes and foods for their slimes, as they feed and care for them, as well as adventuring around the in-game world to find new slimes and discover new places. There are monsters in this game called Tarr, but they can be easily turned off by starting a new game in Casual Mode. There are also feral slimes, who will become angry and bite you if you don't feed them, but they can't be deactivated. The game is rated E10+ for fantasy violence, and contains no swearing, blood, or gore.

I will also be showing my game in a screen-share, so I can help any student who's having a hard time finding things or figuring out any of the puzzles.
The video game, Slime Rancher. (Any version works. It is available for PC and Xbox) No account is needed to play the game, and it doesn't have any multiplayer or online capabilities. Each student will be playing their own copy of the game separately, and will be using this class to discuss the game and what they're doing with other players.

I will also be showing my game in a screen-share, so I can help any student who's having a hard time finding things or figuring out any of the puzzles.
