This is a continuation of Slang for English Language Learners: Part I.

Through open discussions, school appropriate memes, and small assignments, students will acquire knowledge on slang. We will take a deep dive into slang and how you can appropriately use it!

You may be wondering, how is learning slang useful? Learning slang helps language learners connect with native speakers on a cultural and personal level. It is an important step to take in language acquisition.

Hi there! My name is Katie. I am an ESL teacher. I have experience teaching/tutoring students K-12. I also have experience teaching adults English as a second language.

My qualifications:
- I have a Bachelor's in Linguistics. What is linguistics? Linguistics is the study of language!
- I am TEFL certified
- I am a licensed tutor
-I am a licensed substitute teacher with a focus on TESOL

My teaching philosophy is that every student deserves an education and that the teacher's job is to ensure they receive the best quality of education. I want to positively impact my student's lives and create a safe space for them.

Fun fact about me, I have a tuxedo cat named Poppy May! Another fun fact is that I have studied three languages. I am intermediate level Japanese and Elementary level Spanish and ASL.
