This class will go over: background information for Ray Bradbury; what was happening during Ray Bradbury's time period; how the rise of television use affected his writing of the novel; big characters/ themes/ symbols/ motifs to look for while reading. This intro course will cover some controversial topics such as the rise of communism (which was one of the reasons Bradbury wrote the book); burning and banning of books; World War I; fear of technology. How is your class structured? WARM UP: What do you know already? Lecture: background information about the novel including all topics listed above. Brief class discussion: What do you want to know? Art examination: Norman Rockwell's "The Roof Antenna" Teaching style: ADHD and Autism friendly environment! Lots of brain breaks and interaction. Teacher is dynamic and interactive
