In this single 50 minute course, students will learn the background information for a book expected by most high schools and almost all colleges--Ray Bradbury's classic, Fahrenheit 451.

Class experience

US Grade 9 - 12
Students will increase their understanding of the author, the author's time period, the themes of the novel, and how the novel is referenced today
This intro course will cover some controversial topics such as the rise of communism (which was one of the reasons Bradbury wrote the book); burning and banning of books; World War I; fear of technology.
The instructor has 15 years experience guiding young learners through topics such as these and has 10+ years experience with this specific book.
Students only need:
1. something to write on
2. something to write with
I encourage all parents to view the Common Sense Media summary of this book found here: https://www.commonsensemedia.org/book-reviews/fahrenheit-451
