This class will go over: background information for Ray Bradbury; what was happening during Ray Bradbury's time period; how the rise of television use affected his writing of the novel; big characters/ themes/ symbols/ motifs to look for while reading. This intro course will cover some controversial topics such as the rise of communism (which was one of the reasons Bradbury wrote the book); burning and banning of books; World War I; fear of technology.
