Class Experience

Why do you need to keep a sketchbook? Sketches in your sketchbook are like snapshots of an idea, a moment in your day or a period in your art journey. Sketchbooks can motivate, inspire and relax even non artists and are a great way to practice drawing techniques. In this creative art club, students will sketch and draw in their own sketchbooks.  Students can sketch anything they would like, such as an event in their personal life, an idea, or from a photo. I will have weekly prompts available...

Students will learn and reinforce the drawing techniques: hatching, cross hatching, shading, and blending.
Students will gain confidence in their artistic ability.
Students will learn how to talk about their artwork.

If your learner would like to sketch during the week, they may bring artwork to share at the beginning of class. I highly encourage drawing whenever and wherever!

Please be prepared for class each week with a sketchbook, pencils, eraser, and pencil sharpener.

45 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
