- Life as a Concept Artist -
Mr. Chris' professional background spans over 12 years of industry experience. He first started as a Disney Cast Member where he was a name painter and caricature artist at Disneyland resort in Anaheim. He then proceeded to become a concept designer where he worked on projects and clients such as Universal, SeaWorld, Sesame Street, Minions, Ferrari World, Kennedy Space Center and more. β
- Teaching Background -
Mr. Chris started teaching when he was just 16 years old, working as an assistant art teacher at a local art studio. While only a freshman at Carnegie Mellon University, he was appointed the Design Director of his student organization, leading his team to win many university-wide carnival design competitions. After college, he helped students prepare their art portfolio for college applications. Currently he helps college graduates and industry professionals prepare for jobs and advance their careers in the Themed Entertainment Industry.
- Education Background -
Mr. Chris' teaching style comes from his diverse art background: industrial design, entertainment design and illustration. He combines the best teaching techniques of all the teachers that have come before him. Mr. Chris has studied Industrial Design at prestigious colleges such as Art Center College of Design and Carnegie Mellon University. In addition, he has studied Fine Art and Entertainment Design at schools such as Concept Design Academy, Los Angeles Academy of Figurative Arts, and Watts Atelier.
- Teaching Philosophy -
Mr. Chris is a flexible and adaptable teacher who has taught people of various skills and backgrounds. He can teach kids, teens and adults with equal effectiveness. He can teach students who are naturally gifted at art, as well as students who can barely draw a circle. Attentive, kind and patient, he sees every student with their own unique needs. His mission is to give his students the knowledge, mindset and confidence to accomplish any of their goals.
