Class Experience

US Grade 3 - 6
Beginner - Intermediate Level
Join my Creative Sketchbook Adventures—a fun, flexible, and engaging drawing class designed for kids ages 8-12! This self-paced, online course encourages young artists to explore their creativity through daily sketchbook challenges and assignments that they can complete at their own pace. Each day, students will receive a new drawing prompt or activity to spark their imagination and practice essential art skills like shading, perspective, and character design.
Whether your child is a beginner or a budding artist, this sketchbook class offers the perfect blend of independence and community, helping them build confidence and grow as artists in a supportive, creative environment.
Learners will be taught the purpose of a sketchbook, along with the following topics covered:
Contour line, sketching, observational drawing, drawing 3D shapes, using a grid to draw, and adding value to drawings.
The class is structured to share an introduction video before each lesson, assign an individual learning task, and then provide feedback before the next lesson.
I will teach using videos and creating assignments that learners can complete as a practice throughout the week before the next lesson. This provides the learner with a self-driven approach to developing their skills.
My teaching style includes teaching the skill and then allowing students to practice on their own, with additional guidance given if needed.
Learners will engage with weekly posted instructional videos and can contact me with questions if additional information is needed. They will also receive feedback.

What to expect:
- Daily Drawing Prompts: A new, fun art challenge every day!
- Creative Freedom: Work at your own pace and develop your unique style.
Let your creativity soar and fill your sketchbook with exciting ideas!

Profile
Teacher expertise and credentials
I am an elementary art teacher passionate about fostering creativity in young artists. I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design from the International Academy of Design and a Master’s in Art Education from The Art of Education University. My Master’s Capstone project focused on exploring the effects of daily drawing and the use of sketchbooks, a topic that continues to inspire my teaching. I have a State of Florida K-12 Certification in Art.

Beyond drawing, I love working with acrylics and watercolors, finding joy in experimenting with color and technique. My goal is to encourage students to express themselves, build confidence in their skills, and discover the lifelong benefits of creativity.
