Class Experience

Students will improve their riding, Ollie, and kickflip skills on the skateboard.
Students will be asked to practice the tips given in class outside of class. Students are likewise encouraged to submit skate videos on the class website to receive support and feedback.
A functional skateboard is required to complete this course.
Students will be asked three questions at the end of each lesson to show that they learned the tips necessary to do each trick.
30 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 1 - 2 hours per week outside of class.
There are potential hazards to skateboarding and this course. Students must have open workout space (preferably smooth concrete). Students should not attend this class while skateboarding on the road or street. Proper footwear is advised, as well as a water bottle if needed. Adequate stretching is likewise advised. And the use of helmet and elbow, knee, and wrist pads are strongly encouraged.

Students must have room to practice riding and later doing tricks on the skateboard. Students can attend class to learn about skateboarding and practice independently, yet class skateboarding demonstrations are preferred.

Potential falling and hitting of shins are likely. If a serious injury does occur, parent contact will take place as soon as possible.

Parents and students are responsible for their safety and any bodily harm. Proper skateboard safety will be covered in class.
Will use short YouTube at the beginning each class to show students the skill in to be taught that day.
