This is a sixth grade reading and writing course! I will be utilizing Spectrum Sixth Grade Reading to use for my reading passages. These will be reading passages and questions at the beginning 6th grade level. As the course progresses onward, the reading passages will become more advanced at the 6th grade level. However, a student does not have to start from the beginning. In addition, even if a story is missed, that is okay. Most stories stand alone and are independent from each other. In...
Students will improve their reading comprehension at the 6th grade level. With readings rich in vocabulary and a variety of comprehension questions, the student will increase his/her reading and comprehension skills. In addition, students will increase their writing skills as well (complete sentences, correct capitalization, punctuation, grammar). Students will be able to see the answers on the white board in order to write them down.
Paper and pencil! The students will be writing the questions down. In addition, with support, they will write the answers to the questions from the white board on their papers as well. The answers will be in complete sentences. That will be great practice for them!
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
