This fast paced, six-week KANJI CAMP will meet three times per week for 50 minutes each class. We will cover 70 of the most used KANJI characters. Students who join this fast-paced class should be highly motivated, as well as comfortable reading HIRAGANA and KATAKANA. Students will need the Japanese for Young People II KANJI workbook that can be purchased on Amazon.*** Each class, we will cover one lesson from the workbook and will build on these with each subsequent lesson. There will be 15 KANJI lessons and three assessment days, a total of 18 lessons over the course of the six weeks. We will use a variety of learning methods including games, videos, slides, flash cards, and conversation. Repetition is key when learning Japanese writing. We will spend a significant amount of time reviewing to ensure each student is memorising the KANJI. Learning Goals
Students will expand their knowledge of Japanese writing by learning KANJI characters. Students will learn to write and read the 70 most basic KANJI characters and their various readings. Vocabulary will also be expanded along with each character they learn. Learning KANJI makes studying Japanese even more exciting as meanings behind the words come to life through the characters. As a teacher, my goal is always to foster a continued interest in learning Japanese through fun, interactive lessons.
